About Malia
With several years of experience working as a Behaviour Interventionist in an ASD clinic, I have supported children with a wide range of communication, social, and developmental needs. This experience inspired me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at Simon Fraser University, with minors in Educational Psychology and Social Justice in Education, as well as a Certificate in Speech Sciences. I plan to continue my education by pursuing a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
I provide speech and language intervention to preschool- and school-aged children in the clinic setting under the supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists. My experience includes supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, language delays, speech sound disorders, social communication differences, and AAC needs. Additionally, I am certified in Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B certification.

Therapy Philosophy
I believe the foundation of effective therapy is helping children feel safe, regulated, and supported. I prioritize regulation before expectations, recognizing that meaningful learning happens when children feel calm, connected, and engaged. By using evidence-based, play-centered approaches and collaborating closely with families, I strive to create enjoyable therapy sessions that build confidence and support communication in everyday life.
