Shannon Hsu has recently completed her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, where she specialised in Speech Sciences and Psychology.
Shannon has experience working with both early intervention and school district. She has supported children with speech sound disorders, language delays, and neurodiversity through both individual and group therapy. She also has experience working on phonological and sound awareness with children who use hearing aids and cochlear implants during her clinical placement at the Deaf Children’s Society of BC. Prior to pursuing her Master’s Degree, Shannon also worked as a Behaviour Interventionist with autistic children, targeting early language and social skills.
Shannon is passionate about client-centred and neuroaffirming practice and strives to create supportive, inclusive, and engaging environments that acknowledge each child’s unique strengths, style, and needs. Shannon is fluent and able to carry out activities in English, Mandarin, and Japanese. She also has basic knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL).
