About Shannon
I have experience working with both early intervention and school district settings. I've supported children with speech sound disorders, language delays, and neurodiversity through both individual and group therapy. I also have experience working on phonological and sound awareness with children who use hearing aids and cochlear implants, during my clinical placement at the Deaf Children's Society of BC. Prior to pursuing my Master's Degree, I also worked as a Behaviour Interventionist with autistic children, targeting early language and social skills.
I'm passionate about client-centred and neuroaffirming practice, and I strive to create supportive, inclusive, and engaging environments that acknowledge each child's unique strengths, style, and needs. I'm fluent and able to carry out activities in English, Mandarin, and Japanese. I also have basic knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL).
Therapy Philosophy
Every individual communicates differently. I believe therapy should be personalized, family-centred, and functional, empowering clients with practical skills that extend beyond each session.
